Company history
From establishment until the end of the 2nd World War
Almost one hundred years ago on 7.6.1909, Jan Strchler bought a plot of land for his future factory. In 1925 the ISOTERMA Company began production of thermal insulation. Two years later, i.e. in 1927, production began, under the trading name Chemika, of production of means used to combat heat loss and cold. In 1931 the factory was acquired by Olcedy – production of construction and insulation matter. Production was ceased for three months during the course of the economic crisis. After the crisis died away in 1935, the plant was incorporated into Ringhoffer Tatra a.s. and in 1939 the production of Tatra trade refrigeration equipment was concentrated in Beroun. After the end of the 2nd World War in1945, the plant was nationalised through a decree by the President of the Republic.
History until 1989
Production continued even after incorporation into the national enterprise Frigera Kolín in 1949. Important change occurred in 1979 when a licensing and corporate contract was concluded with the Swedish Elektrolux for the production of open refrigeration furnishings. Production was modernised in 1983 for the production of refrigerator shelving.
Modern history
In 1992 a contract was signed with the German company Linde AG based in Wiesbaden. Linde Frigera spol. s r.o. was created on 1.1.1993. Further significant expansion was carried out in 2002 with purchase of plots of land for the construction of a new production plant in Mýto u Rokycan. Construction of the production plant itself was commenced in 2003. The year 2004 was a historical milestone. Linde Frigera became part of the American concern - Carrier Corporation. 2005 signified movement of the production of cabinets with built-in power supplies (their own power) to Hungary. After completion of all construction and preparation work, production was commenced in Mýto u Rokycan in 2006.
The incorporation into the American concern Carrier Corporation was accomplished 19.7.2007 when the company's name was changed from Linde Frigera spol. s r.o. to Carrier Refrigeration Operation Czech Republic s.r.o.
